Macky Sall reacted, exclusively to the Invest forum, on his non-participation in the presidential election of February 2025. The President of the Republic projected himself to life in his post-mandate.
“I cannot answer your first question. What will I do? I do not know. Only time will tell,” said Macky Sall.
He confides that he will be at the disposal of the next President of the Republic, if he needs his advice. He also informs that he chooses to stay in Senegal after the election of February 25, 2024.
At the Senegal International Investment Forum, Macky Sall also changed the terms of his speech. He has indeed changed the « We » by the « You » inviting the next regime to pursue the necessary reforms for a performant public service.
One Happy Precedent for the Two Presidential Mandates
« Together with all our agents, we will work… » President Sall began. He fell silent, pausing for a moment and then rephrases his sentence.
“You go to work because, for me, it’s over anyway…. « . He marked another pause for laughter before being imitated by the whole room who supported him with a round of applause.
“You will therefore work to continue these reforms which require a lot of courage, a lot of ambition as well,” said the President of the Republic, resuming his speech.
Macky Sall chaired the opening ceremony of Senegal’s first international investment forum. It addressed the necessary reform of the labor code, and particularly of the public service.
